Race for the Cure 2012

We participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5k this morning! We took lots of pictures, so I decided we needed a special post for them! :)

It was 44 degrees, with a windchill of 37! In other words, DANG COLD!! :P Emma was very bundled up in layers & a couple of blankets. She was pretty tired from getting up so early (the race opening ceremonies started at 8:00am, so we got up at 6:30am, which was very early for a little girl who is used to sleeping until at least 9:00am)! She even slept part of the walk :)

Choir that performed at the opening ceremonies

Group shot!

The breast cancer survivors got to release balloons!

Starting the race!

Part of the race went through the Mercedes dealership, and they had a children's band playing! It was so cute :)

We stopped just before the finish line & had Emma get out and walk across it herself! Everyone around thought she was so cute, because of course, she was! ;)

Had to take off her jacket & scarf so everyone could see her shirt :)

Here's what it said:

Posing at the finish line with Daddy

Our little family at the finish line!

Whole group at the finish line! We had to take off our jackets to model our awesome shirts the Ellis's got for us! :)

Emma & Mommy at the finish line

Uncle Parker, Mindy, & Emma at the finish line!

Finally got our turn to pose by the sign!

After the race we went to brunch with Parker & Mindy. Where else would we go besides Cracker Barrel (Grandma Becky's favorite)?! :)

Colton modeling a Raider Red hat!

Emma found a doll house that she fell in love with! It's always something...haha!

Daddy was thrilled ;)

Mindy & Emma tried on some Halloween masks & hats!

Uncle PP & Emma playing at the table

We had to stop by the store on the way home to get some birthday essentials for her upcoming party, and her skirt took up the whole basket seat! Haha! :)

We decided to put Becky's flower in our front yard when we got home! So now we are all decorated for Halloween and Breast Cancer Awareness month! :)

We had a great time, even though it was early & cold! We are very glad Parker suggested we participate this year. And, thanks to everyone who donated for our race! We raised a little more than double our goal! :)
