Emma's RSV!!

Emma's stuffy nose and cough got worse (but she never did run a fever, thank goodness), so I took her to the doctor Wednesday, February 29th. Turns out, she had RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus)! The doctor gave her some medicine to help with the cough and congestion, and sent us home. She had us schedule a follow up appointment for that Friday, March 2nd though.

All ready to head back to the doctor's office on Friday! We thought she was doing better because the medicine was making most of her symptoms much better, but as it turned out, she was worse. She was wheezing in her right lung, so we've been having to do Albuterol breathing treatments. They seem to really help though!

And waking up from another nap...Emma has been sleeping a ton since she has been sick! Poor baby :(

She has still been enjoying her rice cereal, although she hadn't had much of an appetite until about yesterday. She had lost a little weight between our doctor's appointments on Wednesday & Friday!

 She has been very interested in all foods. So to distract her from our Pei Wei one evening, we gave her the plastic spoon that came with one of our meals. She was so excited!

Feeling so much better yesterday! Emma playing in the kitchen while I worked on a tutu order.

She has been so sleepy since she has been sick, she's been falling asleep in all sorts of strange positions!

 Like I said earlier, pretty much all she's been doing is sleeping...

...and taking breathing treatments. At least she's a good sport about it!

Last night Emma got her first taste of green beans!

And she loved them! She ate 3/4 of the container (not to mention the part of it she & I were both wearing by the time she was done "helping" me feed her...haha)!

Emma is doing much better now, although she is still coughing and a bit congested, and she is still sleeping quite a bit. But when she's awake, she is very happy and playful, and we can tell she is feeling much better! :)

I painted Emma's toe nails (for the first time!) this afternoon while she was taking her nap! We now have matching green toes for St. Patrick's Day! She is very proud of them (and so am I)! :)

We will be going to Abilene next week for a visit while the family is on spring break! We will probably be there Wednesday through Sunday (Emma & I going on Wednesday, and Colton joining us for the weekend once he gets off work Friday). We are so excited about seeing all of our family next weekend (March 16th-18th) for Memaw & Papaw's 60th wedding anniversary party! You can bet I will have lots of pictures to post the following week! :)

The Past Couple of Weeks...

I have been terrible about posting pictures the last couple of weeks, but I have been distracted by my new "toy" Colton bought me!!

Emma had her shots last Monday (2/20), so we had a rough rest of the week! She ran a fever, had some "tummy troubles," & was very cranky! Poor baby :( BUT, she is now 23.8" long, & weighs 15 lbs 2 oz! The doctor said she was perfectly healthy. Such a big girl :)

Emma also got to start rice cereal last Monday night! And she loved it! She was also trying to feed herself, little miss independent! She kept putting the spoon too far in her mouth and gagging herself though, goofball!

She has been giving me lots of trouble with her naps the past week or two. She doesn't want to take a morning nap at all, and has been taking a couple of VERY short (like 20-30 minute) naps in the afternoon. Then she wants to go to bed for the night about 7:00. I have been trying very hard to change this, but so far it's been rough going!

We found a pack of Minnie Mouse onesies on sale at JCPenny, so of course we had to get them for her since she loves Mickey Mouse Club House so much!

Emma all ready for church a couple of weeks ago. I forgot to take a picture of her yesterday before church. We went to the class for family dedication yesterday (that was during Sunday school & the service) in preparation for her dedication that will be on April 22nd.

We had Parker & Mindy over for some pulled pork last weekend. Mindy loves scarves, and had Emma try hers on!

We are having a bit of a rough week this week so far as well. Emma started coughing a bit last night and her nose is very stuffy & runny! Hopefully she won't get any worse though!
