End of January!

We've been a little busy lately & I haven't done a good job of posting new pictures...so here's some from the last couple of weeks!

We played miniature golf at Main Event with Uncle Jared, Uncle Parker, and Mindy! It was glow in the dark golf, so they only had on black lights! Emma could not figure out why everything looked so weird!

Last weekend (Jan. 27-29), Colton & I took a trip by ourselves to Ruidoso, New Mexico. It was my present to Colton for his 24th birthday (which was Jan. 7th). We had such a fun and relaxing weekend! It was wonderful to get away for a couple of days. But boy did we miss Emma, who stayed behind at our house with MiMi & Pops (my parents)! I had never left her for more than a couple of hours (since I'm a stay at home Mom), and I hadn't even done that very much!

We stayed at "Whispering Pines Cabins" in the Upper Canyon Lodging area. It was such a beautiful area!

We stayed in the "Pinecone Cabin," which was the cutest little one room cabin (plus a bathroom).

The entire area was just gorgeous! Even though it didn't snow while we were there (which we were very disappointed about), there was still snow on the ground in the shady areas.

Our cabin had a fireplace, so we got to enjoy a warm fire each night!

On Saturday we had lunch and went shopping in Mid-Town. Then Saturday evening, we had dinner at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino. Colton had been so excited about going to the casino! He put down $60 at the Roulette tables, and cashed out with $391!! That paid for our weekend stay at the cabin! :)

Sunday, we woke up & checked out, had an early lunch at a very popular pizza place that hand tossed their crust, and then headed home.

We were sad the weekend was over, but were glad to get back to Texas, and our beautiful baby girl!

Pops sent us this picture of Emma playing while we were gone. She looked like she had a good time!

Apparently MiMi & Pops wore her out though, because she has been sleeping a lot today!

She even fell asleep while playing with some of her favorite toys!

Emma Turns 3 Months!!

Emma turned 3 months on Tuesday, January 17th, which also happened to be MiMi's birthday!

Unfortunately, we couldn't spend the day with MiMi, but we did get to spend some time with Mindy & Uncle Parker that night.

Emma is now awake a lot more during the day, but she still gets pretty worn out. She takes a morning nap, an afternoon nap, and an evening nap.

We have been having some very nice weather the past week, with the temperature in the upper 60's & lower 70's! So on Saturday we went on a walk around our neighborhood. Emma enjoyed it, but fell sound asleep before we made it back home.

Emma has so much fun hanging out with Daddy! And Daddy enjoys it, too! :)

Emma has started "talking" all the time now! Sometimes we can't even get her to stop talking and take her bottle, even after she was screaming for it! She also likes to help Mommy read books. She is so cute. I will try to post a video of her "talking" soon!

Emma has started holding her own bottle! She doesn't always do it, but she does it more often than not these days! You can tell she is so proud of all of her progress she is making with sitting up, standing up, talking, rolling over, and holding her own bottle :)

Emma is beginning to like her present from Santa more & more as she gets bigger and more active! Her feet still can't reach the ground though, so we have to put a pillow under her so she can bounce herself :)

 We had a rough week last week where she was VERY fussy and didn't sleep much at night. We are so ready for these teeth to finally break through! But, Tuesday night she actually slept from midnight until 4:45 am, and then from 5:15 am to 10:15 am! We were shocked and excited, but afraid it was a one time event. Last night though, she slept from 10:30 pm to 11:30 pm (which was frustrating she woke up again so soon!), so I played with her and wore her out. She finally fell asleep again about 1 am, and didn't wake up again until 7 am when Colton's alarm woke us all up! We are definitely making progress (we hope!), and are feeling a bit better now that we have gotten to catch up on sleep a little bit the last couple of nights!

We thought we would try uploading a video clip of Emma Claire to see if it would work! I hope it does! We took this video a little while ago when Colton sat down to watch a taped Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with her (January 10th).

Emma loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! She wakes up around 8:00 every morning to watch it. It also comes on later on in the morning while she's taking a nap, so we set it to tape for her on our DVR so she can watch an episode every now and then. :)

We also got some snow yesterday! This was our view out of our front & back doors about 20 minutes after it began snowing. You can't tell very well from the pictures, but the snowflakes were so huge it looked like a bunch of bird feathers falling from the sky! Our yards got covered with snow, but I forgot to take another picture after these. :) Unfortunately when we woke up this morning, it was all gone!
